Before you judge me, KNOW MY STORY! (public exhibition and discussion)
Ijob yijob!
The 14 sex workers involved in the KNOW MY STORY project took pictures, created collages, and wrote their stories, asking their audiences to listen to what they have to say about themselves, their lives, struggles and their reasons for selling sex.
This event showcases their work. It will include discussions, an art-display, a dance performance and a role play.
We invite members of the public, policy-makers, health care providers, NGOs, researchers and journalists to come and talk to the project participants about what it means to be a sex worker in Johannesburg.
The first 20 guests will receive a free printed copy of the KNOW MY STORY book.
Date: Thursday, 20 July 2017
Time: 10 am – 2 pm
Venue: Workers Museum, Jeppe St, Newtown, Johannesburg
Event languages: isiZulu and English
